Two Million worth of Equipment distributed among 100 farmers in Kokawewa, NCP

 The Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project (CSIAP) distributed Two Million worth of Equipment such as Sprinkler Irrigation Systems (50), Compost Making Kit (500) and Rain Shelters (20) among CSIAP farmers in Kokawewa, Galenbindunuwewa ASC area recently. The Minister of Agriculture, Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera participated in this event and supervised CSIAP’s activities too. Minister Amaraweera and Parlimentarian Mr. Duminda Dissanayahe handed over equipment to CSIAP farmers. The Deputy Project Director’s (DPD)Office in the North Central Province of the CSIAP organized this distribution ceremony of equipment. Ministry of Agriculture engaged in a friendly discussion with villagers to find issues that they face and propose solutions.

Parliamentarian Mr. Duminda Dissanayake, Eng. R.M.B. Rajakaruna, Deputy Project Director (NCP) Mr. S.M. Seelarathne, around 100 farmers, Agriculture Instructors (Inter-Provincial) Agriculture Facilitators and CSIAP staff in NCP were present in this programme.

The GEMS Training Programme for the CSIAP being conducted by the World Bank

 The Geo- Enabling Initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) Programme for both Monitoring & Evaluation Officers and Safeguard Officers of  the Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project (CSIAP) is being held at the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM), Athurugiriya. This three days residential programme commenced on 22nd this month aims at giving hands-on experience on GEMS for both Monitoring & Evaluation Officers and Safeguard Officers of the project

 Ms. Dikshya Dawadi, GEMS Consultant and Mr. Dimesh Nilendra, GEMS Consultant, World Bank conducted this programme which was organized by Dr. Janaka Jayawardana Environmental & Social Safeguard Specialist and his team. An Orientation Programme for newly recruited AFs of the CSIAP commences

 An Orientation Programme for newly recruited Agriculture Facilitators  (AFs)of the Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project is being held now
at the Irrigation Training Institute (ITI), Galgamuwa under the guidance of Mr. D.V. Bandulasena, Deputy Project Director, CSIAP. Representing North Western, North Central, Northern, Eastern, Uva and Southern Provinces where the CSIAP is being implemented, forty-seven fresh AFs are attending this two-day residential programme. Subject specialists from the PMU will deliver lectures over two days on different subject areas for AFs to realize their roles and responsibilities at the ground level when working at the Agrarian Service Center level.  Please Images to see more photos of the event.
